Are you new to Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or need to use GIS as part of your job now and are struggling to know what you need to know?
This total beginners 1 day course will show you the fundamentals when using geospatial software in a supportive and non-judgemental environment. Cut through all the jargon and learn the first steps of a new transferable skill. You will have an understanding of QGIS and uses a series of practical exercises to build confidence. Places are limited to 4 delegates, or if you're in a group maximum of 10 to ensure a high level of individual attention and time for questions.

- Styling, basics of cartography & sharing styles
- Sourcing & using data, licensing & copyright

- Terminology cheat sheet & further learning resources
For this course you will need to have installed QGIS (minimum Version 3.34 LTR). This is free to use and download software available from https://www.qgis.org/en/site/.
Once you've booked your course you will receive a confirmation email detailing the course time and date. We will send you the course work booklets & sample data 3 days in advance of the course start date for you to set up and download. We recommend you have a second screen in order to see your work booklets and the QGIS software at the same time. Alternatively, you could print these off.
The course will be hosted on Zoom so you won’t need any new software to attend. This course will be delivered online using a combination of Zoom for video conferencing & screen sharing.
We recommend that you have access to a second display for your computer or something you can use to display course notes, QGIS, and video conferencing simultaneously.
