How do I find the count (number) of features in my layer?

Tips & hints Tuesday time!

If you want to see the count (total number) of features you have in a layer you don't have to open your attribute table to see the amount you can do it within your layers panel!

An example would be the count of grassland areas, woodlands or urban development areas or the number of trees being planted.

In your Layers panel, right-click on the layer you want to see the feature count for and select “Show Feature Count”.

Now you can see the total number of features in your layer as well as how many of each classification within that layer.

You can also see this number in your attribute table - the top bar gives you the total number of features, how many are selected (if any) and how many are filtered!
